The 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session/51st convention
will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Indiana
Convention Center, 100 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis,
Indiana 46225 from October 30 to November 2,
with more than 11,000 adult and girl members and nearly
200 exhibitors expected to attend.
As the
most significant triennial event on the calendar, the National
Council Session brings together individuals responsible
for governance of the Girl Scout Movement: more than 1,800
voting members elected by Girl Scout councils and selected
by USA Girl Scouts Overseas, members of the National Board
of Directors and the National Nominating Committee, past
presidents of GSUSA, and other persons elected by the National
Council. They will review progress on the implementation
of the core business strategy and make important policy
decisions vital to the continued success of the Girl Scout
Movement. In addition, non-voting members will attend the
National Council Session/51st convention.
