Girl Scouts of Western New York currently serves over 7,000 adult volunteers and approximately 18,000 girls. Adult volunteers conduct a variety of age-appropriate programs and opportunities for girls at the troop and service unit level. Girls also participate in council-wide projects. Being a volunteer is more than leading girls in programs, it’s about leading girls on the path to self-discovery and success! Volunteers like yourself make exceptional role models that inspire the girls and young women to be who they want to be and reach their full potential.

Attention Leaders! New Camp Options for Your Troops

Core Camp

Core Camp is the perfect setting for first-time leaders who want to take their girls troop camping without the responsibility of providing program, meals, or having trained/certified adults. At Camp Timbercrest, we will do it all for you. All troop leaders have to do is provide the necessary child to adult supervision ratio. You and your girls can participate in as much or as little programming as you choose. Core Camp will take place at Camp Timbercrest. For more information on Core camp programs please go to pages 6-7 of the 2015 camp catalog.

Specialty Programs Provided (S.P.P.) Camping

With S.P.P. camping, troops can now get the best of both worlds of troop camping and specialized programs such as ropes course, archery, and boating. Trained leaders will have the freedom of troop camp with the comfort of knowing that pre-deter- mined specialty program options and times have been scheduled for you and your girls. Leaders taking part in S.P.P. camping must have their Level I camp training (for lodge camping) or Level II (for cabin and tent camping) and provide an adult with current first aid and CPR certification. S.P.P. Camping will take place at Camp Seven Hills/Lakeside and Camp Piperwood. For more information on S.P.P. camping please see page 8 of the 2015 camp catalog
