GSUSA has shared that nationwide, Girl Scouts Forever Green helped to eliminate more than 1 billion pounds of carbon dioxide from Earth’s atmosphere! We are extremely proud to have been a part of this project that helped to make the world a better place. To learn more about the results of the national efforts, visit the Girl Scouts blog. Girl Scouts of Western New York was proud to participate in Girl Scouts Forever Green, a nationwide 100th Anniversary Take Action Project with a goal of reducing waste, conserving energy, and creating rain gardens. The entire community was invited to take the pledge to make a year-long commitment to environmental efforts, and GSWNY hosted projects throughout 2012 to help improve the environment.
Despite the success of the Forever Green Take Action Project, there is still work to be done. Links to the left explain how you can construct your own rain garden today. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success and who continue to take action for the betterment of our natural environment!
