Ace Adventurer III Trip
Time to explore a bit more using all the skills you have learned. This trip will involve two days and one night of backpacking in Alleghany State Park. You’ll need to use all your outdoor training as you pack your bag, hit the trail with other adventure-seeking girls and set up camp. You’ll cook dinner, filter water, and have a fire at the campsite and have fun learning new activities and skills including how to identify wild plants for food and medicine, keeping your food safe from critters, and maybe craft from wild resources.
Participants must have attended an Ace Adventurer II OR a Trailblazer II trip and have skills verified to attend this trip. Once approved, girls will need to attend a pre-trip meeting where proper equipment and trip menu will be covered. Tent camping experience required. Backpacking experience not required. Must be able to hike 2-3 miles to a campsite with a minimum 20-lb. pack.
Ambassadors can earn their Survival Camper badge and Seniors can earn a fun patch. Lunch, dinner, breakfast and snacks will be provided. Tents, packs, and select other gear will be provided. Sleeping bags are not provided.
Active participation in this program by adults fulfills the SAC camping training requirement.
