Virtual Meet-Up for 2nd and 3rd Graders
At a time when so many things your girl was looking forward to with friends, family and school are cancelled, the Girl Scout experience is still here for her. Girl Scouts is not cancelled! Your girl is invited to join an upcoming Virtual Meet-up with the Girl Scouts of Western New York.
Our Meet-ups are free month-long interactive programs offering all girls a taste of the Girl Scout experience. Girls will meet new friends, tap into their creativity, and discover how to take the lead in her own life and the world.
You are welcome to join as many free meetings as you’d like. When registering, you can select any date and it will provide you the information for all four meetings.
Below is the meeting schedule, activity, and supplies needed for each meet-up. Each activity helps the girls learn more about our promise and law and work toward Brownie Badges.
June 11 – Brownie Bugs Badge
Read a bug story, draw their own bugs then all create a bug craft together.
Supplies: Paper plate or a circle of paper, construction paper, glue, coloring utensils, scissors, pipe cleaners, paint, other art supplies
June 18 – Brownie Bugs Badge
Read a butterfly story, talk about butterflies and draw a cocoon, watch a video, go on scavenger hunt .
Supplies: Paper, scissors, markers, indoor magazines
June 25 – Brownie Philanthropy Badge
Look through magazines and pick want/need, discuss hunger, discuss donating .
Supplies: magazines, newspapers, paper, scissors, glue/tape, canned goods
July 2 – Brownie Philanthropy Badge
Create necklace from old shirt, discuss disaster situations, create list of needs for someone in disaster situation.
Supplies: 1 or 2 leafs from outdoors, 1 sheet of white paper, crayons.
