Friday Night African Dance Party - B/J

Spend your Friday night learning the Ijexa (ee-jay-sha)! This upbeat African dance inspired by the people of Ghana will get your whole body moving and leave you with a smile on your face by the end of class! Girls must wear appropriate clothing comfortable for dancing such as sweats, t-shirt, leggings, etc. 

This class will be led by Alexis Dawkins. Dawkins has been dancing for over 23 years in variety of styles ranging from tap, jazz, ballet, acro, African, and hip hop. She has trained with the Joffrey Ballet School in California, and holds Bachelor's degrees in Dance and Childhood Education from The College at Brockport. She is currently a ballet and gymnastics instructor at Studio J in Amherst.
