Panel: Let’s Diversify Psychology - C/S/A
This program is a partnership with the Psychological Association of Western New York (PAWNY). In the psychology field, there is a lack of diversity amongst female psychologists, especially, those that earn their doctorate. The goal of this program is to offer a safe space for girls of color from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to learn about the field of psychology. There will be seven diverse female licensed psychologists on the panel, and they will share their experiences. After the panel, girls will have the opportunity to ask the psychologists questions about purpose, education, work-life balance, and psychology. Zoom information will be emailed on April 15 with a quick pre-activity for the program.
This program is focused on Black, Native American/American Indian/Indigenous, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, and American Indian Girl Scouts due to the disproportionate number of women of color in this field. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to make space to help more girls of color have access to these opportunities given the disparity. Thank you.
