HORSEBACK RIDING, DAY TRIPS AND EXTENDED TRIP PROGRAMS:

This upcoming summer, camp will look different than what we are used to.  Many COVID -19 safety regulations have been put in place in order for your girls to attend camp in person this season.  Part of the safety measures was to review all of our programs and determine ones that posed a higher risk of safety. After much review we have decided not to offer indoor day trips, our horseback riding programs and our NYC program for summer 2021.  We know that this change may be disappointing but, we feel it is the best decision for the safety of our camper and staff.  It is our hope and plan that we will be able to offer these very popular programs/activities for summer 2022.

2021 In-Person Summer Camp Decision

Summer Camp 2021 Decision Date: April 30, 2021

At GSWNY we know how important it is for girls to have a wonderful summer camp experience. We also want to assure you that we have every intention of operating summer camp 2021 in-person while following all of COVID guidelines and regulations. However, if the need should arise, we will be prepared to provide your girls with an amazing alternative camp program. We have set April 30, 2021, as our decision date to operate camp in-person or switch to our alternative camp (virtual) program mode. You will have several summer camp options for you and your  girl to consider.

PLAN A (IN-PERSON TRADITIONAL CAMP PROGRAMMING WITH COVID MODIFICATIONS):

  • Day Camp (Camp Piperwood or Camp Windy Meadows)
  • Overnight Camp (Camp Seven Hills or Camp Timbercrest)
  • Troop Camp Adventure (Camp Timbercrest)

PLAN B (MODIFIED IN-PERSON CAMP PROGRAMMING):

  • Potential hybrid models of the programs featured in plan A and C

PLAN C (ALTERNATIVE CAMP PROGRAMMING):

  • Alternative Camp (Virtual meetings and activity kits mailed to your door)
  • In-Person Family Camp Weekends for private households (Camp Piperwood, Camp Seven Hills, Camp Timbercrest, Camp Windy Meadows)
2021 Summer Camp Pre-Registration

Hello GSWNY Summer Camp Families,

Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 we are asking all of our GSWNY camp families who are interested in having their child participate in summer camp 2021, to please pre-register to reserve a spot. From January 13 to April 30, 2021, you will have the opportunity to

pre-register and reserve a spot for your  girl. It is at this time that you will be required to pay a refundable $25 deposit and select an option of day camp, overnight camp, troop camp adventure, alternative camp or both. On May 1, 2021, families that have pre-registered will receive an email from Camp Doc and GSWNY letting them know that the summer camp 2021 camp registration portal is open and families can continue with completing their child’s camp registration and camper profile. If we’re not able to offer the program that you’re interested in, then we will refund your deposit. Please note that you will have from Saturday, May 1, to Wednesday, May 5, to complete your summer camp registration for your child before we open up camp registration to the rest of our membership on May 6.

Families that pre-register their girl for camp between January 13 and April 30, 2021, will also receive an exclusive GSWNY summer camp 2021 patch, available through pre-registration only! This is a unique patch for pre-registered campers only! Don't miss out! Click here to pre-register!

2021 Summer Camp COVID Information

This section regarding COVID-19 may be subject to change in the months leading up to summer camp. Please always follow the most current guidelines that have been provided to you, even if they do not match this section of the website.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

This upcoming summer, camp will look different than what we are used to. For example, our camp attendance will be reduced and camp/staff will travel and gather in small groups. At Day Camp, groups will be limited to 5 to 10. At resident/overnight camp groups will consist of 10 to 12, and campers will sleep 2 to 3 in a tent/cabin maximum. Safety for our campers and staff is and always will be our number one priority. We want to assure our parents/guardians and all of our camp patrons that we will have a safe and effective COVID-19 safety plan in place prior to staff and camper arrival. We are currently working on reviewing our camp health safety plan and updating it to reflect strict COVID-19 guidelines and procedures. We are also creating a robust Communicable Disease Plan that will lay out the stringent steps of our pre-arrival COVID-19 screenings/requirements, as well as the on-site safety screenings and sanitation regulations that all staff and campers must adhere to. All of our protocols will follow the guidance set forth by the NYSHD, CDC, WHO, and GSUSA.

We are asking families to partner with us to help prepare your daughter for a safe and healthy experience at camp.
