Resident Camp

All resident camp programs offer swimming, boating, outdoor cooking, crafts, archery, games, horseback riding, hiking, outdoor skills and other activities to enjoy. Resident camp is a great opportunity for girls to make friends and gain independent living and leadership skills in a fun outdoor atmosphere with caring adult role models. Spend a few days or a few weeks playing outside, sitting by a campfire under the stars, learning, growing, and loving the adventure at Camp Seven Hills and Camp Timbercrest!

General Information

Girl Scout resident camp is open to every girl in grades 1-12. Girl Scouting values inclusiveness and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, national origin, or physical or developmental disability. Girls attending Girl Scout summer camp must register as members of Girl Scouts of the USA. A Children’s Camp in New York State brochure listing NYS standards for camp operations will be available in all camp information packets.

Campers That Require Reasonable Accommodations

The Girl Scouts of Western New York wants to provide a positive summer camp experience to every girl. If your child requires special accommodations (transportation, diet, food restrictions, extra supervision, other, etc.) while at camp, please contact the Director of Camp Administration PRIOR to REGISTERING YOUR CHILD for camp 1-888-837-6410 or summercamp@gswny.org to discuss the possible accommodations that could safely and reasonably be made for your child.

How To Register

Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 we are asking all of our GSWNY camp families who are interested in having their child participate in summer camp 2021, to please pre-register to reserve a spot. On May 1, 2021, the summer camp 2021 camp registration portal will re-open and families can continue with completing their child’s camp registration and camper profile. 

Please click here to register your girl online. If you do not have a computer or are unable to register online, contact Customer Care for assistance, or submit a completed paper camp application form (both sides), and a $25 deposit to either our Rochester or Buffalo office (by mail, fax, or curbside pickup). 

Families that pre-register their girl for camp between January 13 and April 30, 2021, will also receive an exclusive GSWNY summer camp 2021 patch, available through pre-registration only!

  • From January 13 to April 30, 2021, you will have the opportunity to pre-register and reserve a spot for your girl.
  • You will be required to pay a refundable $25 deposit (deposits refundable from January 13 to April 30 only) and select an option of day camp, overnight camp, troop camp adventure, alternative camp or both.
  • You will have from Saturday, May 1, to Wednesday, May 5, to complete your summer camp registration for your child. May 6 camp registration opens to all who are interested. 
  • No walk-in registrations at camp will be accepted. 
  • Financial aid applications can be completed with your camp registration. 
  • Payment is due no later than two weeks prior to the start of camp. 
  • Cookie Gift Cards cannot be used on the online registration system or your deposit. They may be used toward your camp balance or put “on account” at our camp tuck shops. If using Cookie Gift Cards for camp balance, payment can be made at any of our Girl Scout Service Centers. 
  • All deposits and camp balances can be paid by electronic check or credit/ debit card through the online registration system or at one of our Girl Scout service centers. 
Early Bird

Available for registered Girl Scouts of Western New York members only. To receive the Early Bird Discount of $25 for GSWNY day camp, registration forms must be received online or at the Girl Scout office on or before Monday, May 31, 2021, at 4:30pm. 

More the Merrier Discount

This discount applies to resident and day camp programs for registered Girl Scouts of Western New York members only. The first registered girl pays the full camp fee. Each additional session or additional sibling may deduct $10. All registration forms for multiple sessions and/or siblings must be received at the same time.

First-Rate Staff

First-Rate Staff

  • All staff members receive certification in First Aid and CPR before camp sessions begin, and attend a week-long training session that includes, but is not limited to, child development, risk management, and safety.
  • Waterfront staff members are required to have American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Certifications. (WSI for waterfront director only)
  • Specialty staff (e.g., for our horseback riding, waterfront, and adventure challenge courses) possess required certification/training prior to being hired.

Taste of Camp Recruitment Events 

New to summer camp? Visit us this spring to get a glimpse of what your summer camp experience will look like. Informational sessions, tours and a sampling of camp crafts will be available. You will also have an opportunity to register for summer camp 2021. Enter your name for a chance at a free of week of camp and other cool camp prizes. (Events may be held virtually this year. Registration details to be provided soon.)

Financial Assistance

Girl Scouts of Western New York is dedicated to ensuring that all girls are able to attend camp. Financial assistance can now be requested with online camp applications! Please remember to provide/upload all required income verification documents. Funding for financial assistance is limited and early applications are encouraged.

Friends and Family Camp Programs

Camp Timbercrest Family Camp Weekend

Dates: July 23-25, 2021
Registration closes June 21, 2021 
Minimum Capacity 30

COST OPTIONS:

  • $70 per person (2 nights)
  • $40 per person (1 night)
  • $30 per person (Saturday during the day only)
  • Children under 5 years of age are free 

Make it a family affair at Camp Timbercrest. During your day enjoy swimming, boating, horse riding, arts and crafts, archery, or leisurely walks. Then spend the evening around the campfire toasting marshmallows and chatting with family and friends. The possibilities are endless. 

Open to all girls and their families. 

Arrival time is Friday at 7 p.m. and departure is Sunday at 9 a.m. 

Families will be placed in platform or cabin tent units only. Each sleeping tent sleeps four to five people. A family of six or more will be placed in two (2) sleeping tents.

Better late than never! Let’s enjoy an in-person celebration of 90 years since we couldn’t gather last year!

Did you know that Camp Seven Hills opened its doors in 1930 and served 50 campers that summer? Much has changed over the years. Calling all families, friends and alumni! This summer Camp Seven Hills will be celebrating 90 years of summer camp adventures. Be a part of our celebratory weekend as you get a chance to see how camp has grown and developed through the years. Swimming, boating, horseback riding, ropes course, arts & crafts, tours, laughter, evening campfires, candlelit path ceremony, and lots of s’mores will be a part of this festive weekend. Ropes course and horseback riding will be on a first come, first served basis and will be an additional fee payable at camp.
