Women of Distinction
Women of Distinction is our signature fundraising event where we honor women throughout Western New York for their strength in character, dedication to community service, and commitment to mentoring and encouraging girls and young women.
Like Girl Scouts, this event is girl led. Girls greet guests, emcee the event, and present the women with their awards. Seeing these Girl Scouts brave the challenge of speaking in front of a crowd of adults is just a snapshot of the new opportunities Girl Scouts provides. These Girl Scouts are impressive, and you’ll leave the luncheon feeling inspired and empowered by the Girl Scouts and some of our community’s most distinguished women.
Sponsoring and attending this event helps ensure that every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout, can be a Girl Scout. Your support provides our 14,000 Girl Scouts with exciting experiences that fall under our four pillars: STEM, the Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship. Funding that is received from this event also helps Girl Scouts of Western New York to maintain and operate camps, service centers and allows us to train the more than 6,000 adult volunteers that work directly with our girls.
From camp to engineering activities, career exploration to the Girl Scout Cookie Program, we work to ensure girls have the tools and experiences they need to become successful leaders in their own lives today and tomorrow.
