As a volunteer organization, Girl Scouts of Western New York has a volunteer board of directors composed of community leaders and professionals who provide our organization with leadership. These women and men believe in the value of Girl Scouting and its ability to develop girl leaders. The combined expertise of these community members provides leadership to the council by establishing the policies and bylaws that guide us.
National Delegates serve as Girl Scouts of Western New York voting members at the National Council Sessions & Council Delegates serve as voting members at the GSWNY Annual Meeting.
They engage and gather feedback from Girl Scout members in our council, learn about proposals, and take action to be the voice of Girl Scouts of Western New York during the National Council Session. They then bring back information to share locally.
Our bylaws require an Annual Meeting of the corporate membership, (comprised of board members, nominating committee members, and council delegates) and is conducted in May.
Our 2026 Annual Meeting date will be announced in the beginning of 2026.
