Girls aged 12 and up can earn their NYS Department of Environmental
Conservation (DEC) Hunter Education Certificate by attending this
program. Topics covered will include how to safely handle a firearm,
hunting safety, proper gun handling and storage, principles of
wildlife management and identification, and hunter ethics and
responsibilities. The course is taught by women hunters employed by
NYS DEC.
Prerequisite: Girls and participating adults must
complete assignments prior to the course. This information is

event. Adult supervision is required.
Fee includes lunch,
snacks, a Timbercrest Tidbit patch, and all educational materials and equipment.
